ness-configurator

Interactive agent setup wizard. Lets you choose the services to monitor, enter your organization token and the reporting interval. On Linux it also lets you set the domains to monitor.

Pending: Linux capture/output

This guide covers Windows (NESS Endpoint Protection v8.x). Linux screens (including domain selection) and macOS are pending.

Arguments

OS	Arguments
Windows	No arguments (interactive wizard).
macOS	Pending (--help output to be confirmed).
Linux	--silent (non-interactive setup), --version, --help (with sudo).

How to launch

Open PowerShell as administrator and run:

ness-configurator

For non-interactive (mass) deployment use ness-core-service --silent.

Step 1. System

The wizard checks that the device is compatible and PowerShell is elevated. It shows a System panel (OS, host, CPU, cores, RAM, disk, architecture) and a Resources panel with CPU, RAM and disk usage. Press Tab or →. (The wizard displays its screens in Spanish.)

Step 2. Services to monitor

Servicios Detectados lists the device services with name, description and status. NESS services are pre-checked. Use ↑ ↓ and Space to check additional services to monitor (e.g. a web server or database).

Step 3. Token and interval

1. In API Token, paste your organization token, available in the console under Integrations > Tokens.
2. Press Tab to reach Intervalo de Reporte and pick with Space: 5, 15 (recommended), 30 or 60 minutes.
3. Press Enter to install; Progreso de Instalación shows progress.

Interval

For office or non-critical machines, use long intervals (30 or 60 minutes).

Reconfiguration

If the agent was already configured you will see "Reconfiguración detectada — valores existentes pre-cargados": current values are pre-loaded; change only what you need.

Step 4. Successful installation

The summary shows the service (NESSCoreService), status (Running), monitored services, interval and logs folder (C:\Program Files\NESS Core\logs\). The agent connects automatically to the NESS cloud; check status at cloud.nesshq.com. Press Enter or Esc to finish.
